You just reminded me of some of those other things that Nancy also said to me, especially her interest in quilts.Manuel Macarrullahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12582775932978665018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-340819108698602754.post-32143443649005885292009-04-18T15:24:00.000-04:002009-04-18T15:24:00.000-04:00Great review!

I recall Nancy talking about her childhood in the south and the tradition of patchwork.
As an artist I too get sometimes lost in repetitions, it is fascinating and reassuring at the same time, also full of possibilities.helene mukhtarhttp://www.helenemukhtar.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-340819108698602754.post-32865406957193390782009-04-17T20:49:00.000-04:002009-04-17T20:49:00.000-04:00To clarify the comment about "foolhardiness," I me...To clarify the comment about "foolhardiness," I mean that some artists are foolish for not studying enough; they want to always "perform" throw a show of prowess with oil on canvas. They may foolishly undervalue the preparation of drawing. And that through your interest in study, Nancy, you avoid the pitfalls of such neglect.
Maybe I put it unclearly, or ambiguously, in the review.Manuel Macarrullahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12582775932978665018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-340819108698602754.post-46352985198733230542009-04-17T17:36:00.000-04:002009-04-17T17:36:00.000-04:00I found this review both sensitive and thoughtful ...I found this review both sensitive and thoughtful as well as provocative. I didn't quite catch the foolhardy line at the end but... well, what artist isn't a fool at least half the time?Nancy Lunsfordhttp://440gallery.comnoreply@blogger.com
